Sports Psychology Service AVAILABLE NOW
Outdoor therapy offers one-to-one psychological support for adults experiencing anxiety, panic, and phobia-related difficulties. Sessions use clinically informed, graded exposure techniques in real-world settings. Referrals are welcomed for a wide range of phobia related difficulties, including specific situations or environments such as travel, medical procedures, or social settings.
Who may this help?
- If you experience anxiety or panic and use avoidance behaviours that limit daily life including fears related to travel, social situations, medical settings, lifts, heights, public transport, shops, waiting areas, restaurants, open water, cycling.
- It can support people who notice intense physical anxiety reactions when they encounter situations or environments they fear
- For some people, working outdoors offers space to think, reflect and process in a different way. Helpful for burnout, stress, life transitions and low mood.
Activities are adapted to the individual and may include a wide range of real-world environments or movement-based exposures relevant to the presenting difficulties.
Outdoor environments are used as therapeutic tools, allowing us to work directly with anxiety responses in real-world settings rather than only talking about them.
What to expect in a session -
- sessions are one-to-one and last 60-90 mins
- we meet at an agreed outdoor or real-world location chosen to suit your needs and goals
- you don't need any particular level of fitness or experience
- at the start we briefly check in and agree a plan and pace for the session, we finish by reviewing how the session went and discussing next steps.
Each session is planned collaboratively and grounded in trauma-informed practice, with attention to safety, consent, and nervous system regulation throughout.
This is therapy delivered outdoors, not coaching, instruction, or guided activity.
Your safety and well-being are central to this work.
I provide:
- Individual risk assessments
- Pre-session planning and check-ins
- On-going reviews of pace, progress and exposure levels
Sessions take place at agreed outdoor locations. You are always in control of the pace and can stop or change the session at any point. All work is confidential and conducted within professional and ethical guidelines
An initial consultation is required to assess suitability and discuss your goals.
